He has coached professional players competing on the WTA Tour and works with ambitious juniors as they transition from county tennis through national and international level. He manages players development and facilitates coaches, trainers and hitting partners for training blocks and tournament support
Footwork & Movement
Paul has worked with and been trained by Dave Bailey, a pioneer in tennis footwork and movement. As a footwork specialist, Paul delivers practical workshops across the UK and Ireland, helping players improve movement, positioning, balance and efficiency on and off the court.
TENNIS-SPECIFIC FOOTWORK
Movement with purpose
What is tennis footwork?
Tennis footwork is the ability to take the least number of effective steps to and from the ball, while maintaining the correct dynamic balance to hit each shot well.
Tennis-specific movement is more than fitness or running drills. It is the ability to read the ball, move efficiently into position, arrive balanced and recover ready for the next shot. Our coaching breaks movement down into clear, teachable elements, court position, preparation, footwork patterns, contact and recovery — so players can move with more speed, control and confidence in every area of the court.
01
Read & React
Recognise the area of court, ball type and time available.
02
Move with purpose
Use efficient first steps, split steps and movement patterns.
03
Know the shot
Build the right stance, spacing and body position for the shot.
04
Recover to get ready
Move out of the shot and reset for the next ball.

MOVE 3 PERFORMANCE SUPPORT
Move 3 works alongside PT Tennis to give players a connected strength and performance plan — built around their tennis, their stage of development and their individual goals.
MOVE 3 × PT TENNIS
PT Tennis leads the tennis development plan. Move 3 adds the physical support behind it — helping players build movement quality, strength, conditioning and confidence on court.
01 — Assess & Plan
PT Tennis and Move 3 identify the player’s tennis demands, movement needs and development priorities.
02 — In-Person Blocks
Dan visits Preston LTC every 4–5 weeks for practical assessment, coaching, review and progression.
03 — Online Programme & Review
Between visits, players follow an individual programme with three weekly sessions and regular online or in-person review points.
Move 3 is already being delivered with a small group of PT Tennis juniors at Preston through this hybrid model.
